How do you injection mold a toy for a fourth grader?
Working for a class of fourth graders, I made a Minecraft toy using injection molding techniques.
Working with Unigraphix NX and Solidworks, I CADed, programmed, and CNCed two molds making a Minecraft Pickaxe.
Due to variations in the mill and interference fit tolerances, it took dozens of iterations to produce functional molded pieces.
The fourth graders were very happy with their Minecraft toys!
