How do you teach American Sign Language?

Our team developed a tangible interface for helping individuals learn American Sign Language.

Our glove uses flex sensors in order to measure the accuracy of a user’s sign, and provides both haptic and visual feedback to the user.

Small motors in the fingertips provide staggered vibrational feedback to indicate which fingers still need to be adjusted for the attempted sign.

A GUI displays sensor information to signal to the user how far off or close they are to the correct sign.
